My Story

I believe that I was kind of born loving travel. Since I can remember I always loved going to different countries and exploring different cultures. Airports are my happy place.

After I finished my uni years in Budapest, Hungary I had two options. Keep studying and do occasional travels around Europe or just go for it and move somewhere new and see what happens.

I decided to take the leap and moved to Brussels, where my cousin worked in a hostel at that time. It was nothing but glamorous cleaning hostels let me tell you. But it was so worth it.

After a few months, I managed to score another hostel job in Nice, South of France. Things started happening quickly from here and I ended up moving to the UK for a year.

It was clear to me that travel made me the happiest and that I wanted to keep doing this but it was quite challenging doing hospitality work and constantly having to save up so I can have a few months of travel.

Australia

After the UK, I had the opportunity to move to Australia which was just unreal to me. It was insane that a few years beforehand I was sitting at a university lecture where an Aussie guest professor was talking about the experience of studying down under and there I was about to make that happen.

I was so ecstatic, so incredibly happy to be there from day 1. But as other immigrants would say, the pink clouds start to fade a few years in and the feeling of homesickness will settle in. It was tough. Having a corporate job and using all my annual leave to be able to go back home and see family once every couple of years. I was not really able to travel anymore (which I loved the most) and I fell into my 9-5 routine.

I wanted to be at both places so desperately. Live my amazing new life overseas but also spend precious time with my family. I remember telling myself 'I just wish I could have a job I can do from anywhere. If only!'.

Europe

I'm obviously not the only one to say that Covid changed everything for me.

All of the sudden I was left without a job on the other side of the world. I had no idea when I will see my family again. Traveling was just not an option anymore. Most of the world started working remotely for the first time. Businesses realised people can actually do their work from wherever they are. And I started believing maybe I will be able to do this after all!

So I took a chance, moved back to Europe to spend some time with the fam and started looking into how to create an income online so I don't have to sacrifice my dream.
